Carnival Queen 2010

Miss Red Unlimited, Louise Liza Victor, captured the title of Carnival Queen 2010 in an historic victory. Louise is the first person ever to be fully endorsed, sponsored and supported by a Carnival Band for Carnival Queen. Louise made an appearance at the Carnival Band Meeting on Tuesday July 13th. There she thanked all revelers, RED Management and TEAM Red for the support and encouragement given to her during her preparation leading up to the contest. She also expressed her gratitude to the many members of TEAM Red who actually showed up at the National Cultural Center to support her in the night of competition.

Louise continues to conduct herself with a degree of poise and quiet confidence that will serve her well during her reign. She can be a fabulous example to all young ladies of what true beauty is like because for her it is not just about the physical.

RED Unlimited has many plans for Louise during the year of her reign from 2010 – 2011 as the FACE of RED. The upcoming year leading up to Carnival 2011 will definitely be a busy one for Louise who will be required to fulfil all her duties as Saint Lucia Carnival Queen 2010 which may include representing Saint Lucia at other regional pageants. We continue to wish Louise Victor the best in the upcoming year as we remain confident that she will continue to do us proud.

On Thursday July 1, Miss Louise Liza Victor was officially named as Miss Red Unlimited for the 2010 Carnival Queen Show. Louise represents that first ever Carnival Queen Contestant who is endorsed and fully supported by a Carnival Band. The move is totally in keeping with Red’s philosophy of being involved in all aspects of Carnival. TEAM RED took the bold initiative of coming together with other ‘Friends of Red’ to support a young lady for this year’s Carnival Queen Show. It is hoped that this will be just one of the first such initiatives by RED. We also hope that other Carnival Bands will follow the lead and make the Carnival Queen show really live it to its name.

We are calling on all RED Revelers and supporters to turn up at the National Cultural Centre on Friday July 9th, 2010 to support Louise for queen. The RED Team has been working feverishly with Louise to prepare her for the night. She is REDdy. Are U?

16 Plus Can Play

Given the huge demand that has been coming from some of our revelers who are under 18, RED Management has taken the decision to review its policy of not allowing anyone under eighteen to register to play with RED. We do have one stipulation which is that anyone under 18 who is 16 and over, must complete and submit a parental consent form. The form can be downloaded from the website and brought with you when you register. NO ONE UNDER 16 WILL BE REGISTERED TO PLAY WITH RED UNLIMITED.

Taking RED on the Road

First it’s Soufriere, then God knows where. What is certain is that RED is going on the road this year. Thanks the the innovations of our young and exciting Events Team, RED Carnival is moving out of Castries and spreading its special brand of fun to other communities. While not the first Carnival entity to take its ’show’ on the road, this carnival band will definitely be the first to change the colour of carnival in these new communities. By the time we leave….everyone we meet will be RED…or at least wishing they were.

The Red Unlimited Carnival Band, referred to as Red Carnival, is a subsidiary of Red Unlimited Inc. Red Carnival is best described as a party band with two distinguishing features – attracting Revelers with Energy to Dazzle spectators and demonstrating innovation to keep the band on the cutting edge of the revelers’ experience.

The feature of ‘energy to dazzle’ draws a picture of vitality, energy, youthful vigor, colour and spectacle of sight. Red Carnival focuses on giving its revelers a great party both inside and outside the carnival season.

Red Carnival prides itself on being relentless in creating and offering new ways in which revelers can enjoy the carnival season and the road pageant in particular. The band continuously strives for innovation in band costumes, in activities, in the road experience and in band management. Red Carnival will always find ways and processes to continually energize and re-define itself to remain relevant and contemporary.

The band is oriented to attract largely persons 18 years and over. Red Carnival has always had revelers who are motivated by revelry and action on the road, possess high energy and want to display the best of their physical attributes. If you meet those criteria then Red Carnival is definitely the band for you. Red Carnival looks forward to joining you on the road for two days of pure fun and revelry.

Red Carnival Ignites

For the third year in a row, Red Carnival transformed the Coco Palm Grounds into Carnival Central last Saturday, May 8. Amid all the Jazz and Cricket, the official band launch of Red Carnival, dubbed Red Ignites, stood out as a must see event. Nine costumes were put on display for the 2010 portrayal of Unspoken Desires. There were rave reviews for the fabulous production put on by TEAM RED Members, most notably Trevor King.

RED Carnival proved once again that it deserves its reputation as a cutting edge band. The costumes were fabulous and the models were skinny – the perfect combination. RED CARNIVAL definitely ignited last Saturday. By all indications it will be getting hotter and hotter until the band explodes in a sea of colour and energy on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. See you there!
